The VI4331 3D dTOF sensor integrates a large-area single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) receiver array and a VCSEL laser emitter, enabling accurate distance measurement of objects irrespective of their color, reflectivity, or surface texture. This provides a compact and cost-effective solution for miniaturized 3D perception applications in diverse market segments. Leveraging independently developed SPAD technology and proprietary time-of-flight (ToF) signal acquisition and processing algorithms, the module delivers high-precision, image-level 3D point cloud output with sub-centimeter accuracy.
The module incorporates a fully integrated system comprising the SPAD detector, VCSEL light source and driver, and optical lens assembly. Utilizing sub-nanosecond light pulses and an advanced eye-safe control circuit, it complies with IEC 60825-1 Class 1 eye safety standards. To minimize interference from ambient light, the sensor employs a narrow-band optical filter combined with an internal ambient light suppression algorithm, achieving reliable 3D ranging performance up to 10 meters in indoor environments and 2.5 meters outdoors.
